OURIKA VALLEY DAY TRIP FROM MARRAKECH

After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad in Marrakech, your private driver will pick you up from your accommodation at 09:00 am for a rewarding Essaouira day trip from Marrakech. The day trip to Ourika Valley from Marrakech is an escape from the hectic Marrakech and a refuge to soak up the nature, and learn about the unique Berber culture.

After half an hour of driving through the fertile plain of Marrakech, we will join the spectacular High-Atlas Mountains through its lush Ourika Valley. The villag of Tnine Ourika is known for the traditional weekly market that keeps attracting Berbers from the mountains to purchase what they would need for the whole week like sugar, tea, vegetable oil, clothes, electronics…etc, and, in return, they would put for sale goats, milk, organic vegetables, nuts and fruits.

En route, we will include many short breaks for taking pictures as the views are mesmerizing. Once we get to the Setti Fatma Village, which marks the end of the tarmac road, you may want to include a soft hike up to the waterfalls through the shadows of the walnut trees. It’s possible to spot the resident Barbary Macaques before returning to the restaurant where you will be served a delicious meal for lunch by the stream under the wallnut trees’ shadow.

In the late afternon, we will drive back to Marrakech and we will drop you off either in your Riad/hotel, in the Jemaa el-Fna Square or wherever you wish in Marrakech.
