DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY1: Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Desert
Pick-up at 07 :30 am from your hotel/Riad in Fes by your private driver/guide. We highly recommend starting our journey the earliest the better as you need to be in the Sahara desert of Merzouga before the sun sets. Our first stop after driving through the nearby plain is in the charmin town of Ifrane. It is often called the Switzerland version city of Morocco because of its Alpian architecture.
We will have a nice drive through the cedar forest of the Middle Atlas that hosts a colony of Barbary Macaques. After having lunch near Midelt, we will continue on the track crossing the spectacular High-Atlas Mountains, then include a short break for taking pictures in the panoramic palm valley of Ziz before arriving in the majestic sand dunefield of Erg Chebbi.
Go on a camel ride experience while enjoying the breathtaking view of the sunset before getting to the luxury desert camp. Enjoy your dinner, then have a musical session performed by the staff members using drums and castanets. Include the day with a relaxing sleep in your ensuite tent.
Day2: Explore the Desert Area - Midelt
Early wake up in the morning, we will invite you to climb the majestic sand dune to attend the miraculous view of the sunrise. Have a refreshing breakfast under the sunlight, take a shower, and then resume our journey by exploring the desert area.
Learn about the traditional system of irrigation known as “Khettaras”, visit the Khamlia village, which is resided by people with dark complexion who were brought as slaves from the Sub-Saharan Lands. They are known for the spiritual “Gnawa Music”, which they perform to guest-visitors.
After lunch, we will drive back north through Erfoud, which is known for the fossil factories and dates. Include short breaks for chilling out and taking pictures before arriving in our hotel/Riad near Midelt where we will spend our second night.
Day3: Midelt - Middle Atlas - Ifrane - Fes
After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad in Midelt, we will continue on the track to Fes through the lush and UNESCO-preserved Middle Atlas Mountains. Arrive in Fes in the afternoon marking the end of our 3 days desert tour from Fes and hoping you go with memorable experiences.
